WOTSO Kogarah

Nine murals, one very colourful new workspace!

I was commissioned by WOTSO to design and hand paint a series of nine custom murals throughout their new Kogarah coworking space in Sydney.

The creative direction for this project was all about making the space feel fun, fresh and a little bit summery. Citrus fruits, oranges and playful still life objects became a recurring theme, giving us a colourful thread that could flow throughout the building while still allowing every mural to have its own personality.

From hallways and shared spaces to large statement walls, each mural was designed specifically for its location. We played with bold colour, oversized objects and unexpected pops of citrus to turn otherwise blank walls into colourful moments people would discover as they moved through the workspace.

I loved being able to carry one idea across so many different walls. Rather than making all nine murals look the same, the citrus theme helped connect them while giving us plenty of room to play with different compositions, colours and little details along the way.

The finished collection brings so much personality to the new WOTSO Kogarah space and shows how murals can become part of the overall experience of a workplace, rather than simply artwork added at the end.

Nine murals, lots of oranges and a whole lot of colour!
